welcome
Dear friends of
WELCOME to the July issue of OUTthere.
For most of you, the importance of reliable and affordable
regional air services is paramount. You rely on them for
business and pleasure; they help maintain long-distance
relationships, deliver you to important medical appointments,
and connect the country to the city with ease.
With such an important social and economic function,
it's vital that these services are maintained and improved for
present and future generations.
An initiative that has been developed to ensure that
this occurs is the creation of a policy document by the
Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA). The
document highlights the most critical aviation issues
facing Australia today, including aviation regulatory reform,
the En Route Charges Rebate Scheme and the carbon tax.
The document incorporates recommendations on
policies to be adopted by government, and calls on all
major political parties to be transparent in their positions
on regional aviation matters prior to the next election.
Rex is joining the RAAA's call to action, sincerely hoping
our MPs clearly define their positions about critical regional
aviation issues so that you – the people who use and rely
on these services – can make informed decisions at the
next election.
Until next time, from all 1,000 of us at Rex, Air Link,
Pel-Air and AAPA, we invite you to sit back, relax and let
us do the flying.
