Chairman of the boards, 'Chumpy'
Pullin will head to Sochi as the warmest
of favourites to bring home gold – and
with good reason. Pullin is a two-time
World Championship and World
Cup title winner and, last season,
was far and away the best rider in the
sometimes rough-and-tumble sport
of snowboard cross.
With six riders going head to head
as they race down a course with jumps
and banked turns in what has been
described as "motocross on snow", it
can seem like chaos. But the über-cool
Pullin is a master tactician and always
seems to know the right moment to
make a race his own.
"It's not easy to crack through when
you've got so much going on and so
many variables," he admits. "So it's
great to be able to rock up in different
conditions, with rivals just getting
stronger and stronger, and still be able
to put it together."
