Anne-Marie & Victoria Koszegi Barfoot & Thompson S elling is in the Koszegi family blood After several years in retail as the owner of the Remuera Bag Shop, Anne-Marie Koszegi launched her real estate career in 2005. The mother of two completed her National Diploma in real estate and is now a member of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. After a little investigation into real estate companies, it was an easy decision to join Barfoot and Thompson and eight years on, Anne-Marie is proud to work for the family run company that has been in operation since 1923. "It goes back to what my parents taught me," says Anne-Marie. "Every home they owned was sold or bought by Barfoot and Thompson. They are the best there is. Barfoot and Thompson care about the people who work for them. They are a family company with a strong glue that keeps everyone together." Six months ago, Anne-Marie took her daughter, Victoria, on as an Associate Salesperson, beginning a family tradition of working in real estate. Victoria brings many valuable skills to the Koszegi team. She is highly educated and after completing her primary and secondary schooling at the Diocesan School for Girls, she went on to complete a Diploma of International Hotel Management at the Swiss Hotel Association and a Diplôme Culinaire d'Hôtelier of Le Cordon Bleu École de Cuisine in Adelaide, South Australia. Victoria's education along with her background in hospitality has given her great interpersonal and communication skills. She is also highly adaptable to any situation, is sensitive to people's requirements, sincere, focused and has the utmost integrity. "Sometimes in real estate people worry about younger people not having the experience - Victoria has returned from London with tremendous maturity," Anne-Marie explains. "Her years of experience dealing with customers and in high pressure situations have come across to help in her career now." "Because I had lived overseas for so long, when I returned to New Zealand I needed a challenge," says Victoria. "I don't think I'll ever stop learning about real estate. It is absolutely what you make of it. If you want it to be fun, it will be." Anne-Marie and Victoria agree that the essential characteristics of a successful seller are enthusiasm, communication, integrity, understanding what the client needs and a caring attitude. "Whether buying or selling, everyone should at least interview someone from Barfoot and Thompson when they're looking to buy a house. Each individual property has its own requirements and we aim to cater our services dependent on individual needs." With Anne-Marie as the face of the partnership, Victoria shows an excellent ability overseeing the majority of the technology based activities. The Koszegi's are prepared to go that extra mile, working full time in the real estate business, never giving up to close a deal for the vendor and always thinking outside the square to achieve this as well as staying very focused on the task at hand. They enjoy seeing clients' properties being elevated to the market as they believe this will give clients the best opportunity to sell. Every home, irrespective of value, is important to Anne-Marie and Victoria. Anne-Marie has been awarded the Number 1 branch salesperson 2005-2012 as well as a Top 25 salesperson company-wide for the year ending March 2009-2011. If Anne Marie's impressive track record is anything to go by, this motherdaughter duo is set for great things.
