Lisa Martin GoFi8ure L isa Martin is empathetic towards business owners who experience the winter blues… "Right now I'm not feeling very enthusiastic and passionate about my business because I'm stuck in delivery," says the founder and managing director of GoFi8ure. "This happens every year. I tend to fall into an end of the financial year funk." Lisa's passion lies in building her bookkeeping accounting business – seeing her GoFi8urines establishing effective working relationships with clients, implementing integrated systems and achieving progress and satisfaction for the client. "I genuinely feel very excited to see something work that I built or to see that I hired a person that was a good fit for a particular client. When I don't get to experience that on an every second day basis and I'm stuck in delivery I fall foul of working in my business instead of on my business. I imagine that happens for a lot of business owners from time to time. When I get stuck, for lack of resource, working in my business I do not enjoy it as much. "We make a promise to our clients that because we're looking after their accounts so diligently throughout the year, when it comes to the end of the financial year we should have end of year packs completed ready for the chartered accountant by May 7. That means that from the middle of March to May 7 the work is intense. We do put pressure on ourselves to deliver that brand promise. "It will also be the time where people's inadequacies are polarized. A completely focused GoFi8urine gets the job done and nothing can stand in their way. A weak link in the team creates all sorts of problems which reduces the passion and energy when you're sidelined to deal with underperforming staff." Go Fi8ure is in search of experts in bookkeeping and accountancy to join Lisa's team of superheros and help revive her love for her business. "Great people do not come along just when you need them so we keep our feelers out throughout the entire year in search of individuals with competent skills around GST, accounts, end of day adjustment journals, reconciling loans as well as having the passion to learn and grow. We have an intensive process for recruitment and selection. We are honest about what the job requires – the good, the bad and the ugly. Basically, we're looking for superheros which could be a tall order for people who just want to go to work and then go home. We're selling something a little different."
