Boutique vibe: Guthega
Perisher is big – Ben-Hur kind of big – with seven
mountains and 47 lifts accessing 1,245 hectares
of terrain across four interlinked areas. Whew!
Exhausted already.
However, way back in the last millennium, when
Smiggin Holes, Perisher, Blue Cow and Guthega
were separate entities, you would choose one resort,
not all. Today, the easiest resorts to access are
Smiggin Holes, Perisher and Blue Cow, which means
we're going to send you to the far-flung Guthega.
People can ski Perisher for a week and never make
it to Guthega's sheltered, tranquil, tree-lined runs.
When the winds put the chairlifts on hold, Guthega's
T-bars just keep on truckin'. And on a fresh snowfall
day the powder stashes are plentiful.
The best part? You can stay at Guthega, making
this small piece of paradise your home away from
home. It's a delicious slice of a larger resort pie.
Guthega is about a 40-minute drive from
Jindabyne. Turn right off Kosciuszko Road
onto Guthega Road.
