A cheerful town set on the shores of the Tongass Narrows, Ketchikan and its surrounds present a range of attractions, including Misty Fjords National Monument – one of America's largest wilderness areas.BLD Day 15. Juneau. Today your ship will arrive in the Alaskan capital of Juneau, located at the foot of grand mountain peaks right on the Gastineau Channel. BLD Day 16. Skagway. Journey to Skagway, a gateway for the gold rush. Spend time exploring a town where frontier history still lives on. BLD Day 17. Glacier Bay. Today, absorb the breathtaking sight of World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park. BLD Day 18. College Fjord. Cruise College Fjord, with its tidewater glaciers, large valley glaciers and many smaller glaciers – most of which were named after Ivy League schools. BLD 98 EXPLORE ALASKA BY LAND Day 19. Whittier, Anchorage, Mt McKinley. Disembark in Whittier this morning. Board Princess Cruises' exclusive Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail service for the journey to Talkeetna at the base of Mt McKinley, North America's highest peak. From here, travel on to your lodge, located just south of Denali National Park near the Chulitna River. Denali, Fairbanks. Today travel to Fairbanks, Alaska's second largest city. Here, take a sternwheeler cruise along the Chena and Tanana rivers, including a visit to a replica Athabascan Indian village. Two Night Stay: Fairbanks, Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. B Day 24. Fairbanks, Arctic Circle. Today experience the Arctic Circle from the air. Fly over the remote Yukon River as well as the Gates of the Arctic National Park and the Brooks Mountain Range – the northernmost section of the Rocky Mountains. You'll also land at a wilderness community. Back in Fairbanks, tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner & Drinks. BD Day 25. Depart Fairbanks. After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Fairbanks for your onward flight. Day 21. Denali. Today enjoy a guided tour of the Sun Dog Kennels and meet some of the well-cared for sled dogs. Afterwards, travel by coach to Denali National Park. Settle in to your lodge then enjoy dinner and a show at the Music of Denali Musical Theatre. Two Night Stay: Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, the perfect base from which to explore Denali National Park. BD Day 22. Denali, Freedom of Choice Sightseeing. This morning, you may like to take part in a Natural History Tour, visit a husky homestead; enjoy a half-day rafting adventure on the Nenana River; or embark on the Tundra Wilderness Tour.
