Day 2: Meet your Egyptologist guide and start your guided tour of the Pyramids, Memphis and Sakkara. Begin with an unforgettable tour of the great Pyramids of Giza. Enter the temple of the mysterious Sphinx. After lunch tour Memphis, the oldest capital of Egypt, built by King Menes The colossal statue of Ramses II is exhibited in the museum. Sakkara is the oldest Ancient Egyptian cemetery, home of the Step-Pyramid and mortuary compound, built by the engineer lmhotep for King Zoser. Day 3: Transfer to Cairo airport to board your flight to Luxor where you will be met and assisted upon arrival. Board your 5-star deluxe Nile vessel, the Amarco II. In the evening, visit the temple of Karnak and temple of Luxor. Overnight in Luxor. Day 4: Begin your day with a visit to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings, a vast City of the Dead where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, decorated richly, and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of Pharaohs. Rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Ancient Egypt's only female Pharaoh) merges with the sheer limestone cliffs that surround it, as if nature herself had built this extraordinary monument. On the way back to the river Nile, you will pass the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn. After lunch sail to Edfu. Overnight in Edfu. Day 5: Explore the largest and most completely preserved Pharaonic – albeit Greek-built – temple in Egypt, the extraordinary Temple of Horus at Edfu. After lunch sail to Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. Sail to Aswan. Dinner will be served on board, followed by "Galabeya party", where you can dress in traditional Egyptian costumes. Overnight in Aswan. Day 6: Visit the Aswan High Dam, Egypt's contemporary example of building on a monumental scale. Sail by felucca around Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum, the burial place of the former leader of the Ismaili Muslims. Day 7: Transfer to Aswan airport to board your flight to Cairo.
