welcome Dear friends of W elcome to the April issue of OUTthere. In the blink of an eye we're already well into the first half of 2013. Despite the second half of 2012 presenting some challenges to Rex's operating environment, including the introduction of the Federal Government's carbon tax and the cessation of the Enroute Rebate Scheme, the aviation industry is proactively responding through the launch of regional aviation policies by The Australian Aviation Associations' Forum (TAAAF). TAAAF is an alliance of peak aviation associations in Australia that cooperate to give the industry a coherent voice when presenting to government and regulators on key aviation issues and policies. The policies respond to a range of problems confronting the aviation sector, including ongoing access for regional services to capital city airports and the reintroduction of the Enroute Rebate Scheme. It is a positive step in the right direction, and one in which Rex will continue to be involved to ensure regional services are given the high priority they deserve by government and regulators. Until next time, from all 1,000 of us at Rex, Air Link, Pel-Air and AAPA, we invite you to sit back, relax and let us do the flying.
