Today, perhaps take a canal cruise and glide past 17th-century homes, churches and merchant houses. Then visit the city's famed flower market along the banks of the canal. Alternatively, visit the Van Gogh Museum, or enjoy an excursion to the village of Zaanse Schans, famous for its windmills. Later, set off along the Rhine River.BLD CRUISING THE LEGENDARY RHINE Day 13. Cologne, Freedom of Choice, Andernach, A Royal Invitation. Arrive in Cologne today and choose from a range of walking tours or take a bicycle tour to Bonn. Later, head to the 14th-century Burg Namedy castle for an exclusive evening of royal delights. Explore the castle's opulent rooms, hidden nooks and manicured gardens, then savour a lavish banquet. BLD Day 14. Rüdesheim, Freedom of Choice. Today cruise through the Rhine Gorge on what is known as the Rhine's most beautiful stretch. In Rüdesheim, perhaps tour Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, take a ride in a gondola for views over the Rhine Valley, or explore the Rhine Valley wine region during a tour and wine tasting at a local winery. BLD THE MEANDERING MAIN RIVER Day 15. Miltenberg. Disembark in Miltenberg today, a pretty Franconian town spared from the destruction of the Second World War. You're invited to discover the local way of life on a unique village experience, exclusive to APT. Explore quaint shops and mingle with the locals on a special day to remember. BLD Day 16. Würzburg, Freedom of Choice. In Würzburg, perhaps tour the Residential Palace. Or travel to Rothenburg on the Romantic Road and visit its German Christmas Museum. Another option is a guided bicycle tour through Würzburg.BLD 124 THE MAIN-DANUBE CANAL Day 17. Bamberg. This morning you'll travel to World Heritage-listed Bamberg. Explore the city on a walking tour, then visit a traditional Bamberg beer haus to enjoy a local brew, compliments of APT. Later, rejoin your ship and cruise onto the Main-Danube Canal. BLD Day 18. Nuremberg, Freedom of Choice. On arrival in Nuremberg, perhaps take a World War II tour or join a medieval tour and see the 900 year-old ramparts that surround the city. After your selected tour, sample some local beer and sausages, or enjoy freshly baked gingerbread with coffee. Continue along the Main-Danube Canal and arrive at the highest point of your cruise, 435 metres above sea level. Later, cross Europe's Continental Divide. BLD THE BLUE DANUBE Day 19. Regensburg, Freedom of Choice, Vilshofen. Regensburg is known as one of Germany's best-preserved medieval cities. On arrival, perhaps take a tour of the city's architectural highlights or take a bicycle tour to the 18th-century hillside temple of Walhalla. Tonight, enjoy 'Oktoberfest' in Vilshofen and relish local Bavarian snacks, beer and folk music.BLD Day 20. Passau, Freedom of Choice, Linz. Arrive in Passau and perhaps travel by coach to Salzburg for a tour of the city's 'Sound of Music' sights. Or you may like to take a day tour to Ceský Krumlov in the Czech Republic. Alternatively, enjoy a guided tour of Passau before cruising to the Austrian town of Linz. BLD Day 21. Melk, Freedom of Choice, Dürnstein. Disembark in Melk today, and enjoy a guided tour of Melk Abbey and an organ recital. Later, perhaps take a guided bicycle ride along the banks of the Danube River from Melk to D ürnstein. Alternatively, rejoin your ship and cruise to Dürnstein, where you'll enjoy a walking tour, followed by a wine and brandy tasting. BLD Day 22. Vienna. Disembark in Vienna and enjoy a walking tour of the Austrian capital. After dinner, visit the newly renovated City Palace. Enjoy a cocktail reception and a private concert that features some members of the acclaimed Mozart Boys' Choir. BLD Day 23. Vienna, Freedom of Choice. Today, perhaps tour the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, or you may choose to explore the Fine Arts Museum. Alternatively, visit Vienna's famous Spanish Riding School, or embark on a bicycle tour around the fascinating city. Or join an excursion to Bratislava in Slovakia. BLD Day 24. Budapest. On arrival in Budapest, enjoy a city tour. Afterwards, visit the Hungarian State Opera House for a tour, a glass of champagne and a private opera recital of two or three ariettas. After dinner tonight, set off on a twilight cruise through the city. BLD THE GOLDEN CITY OF PRAGUE Day 25. Budapest, Disembark Ship, Velké Bílovice, Prague. Disembark your ship this morning, and 25 Day (EUSMPB25) guests depart the tour with a transfer to the airport. Remaining guests travel to the Czech town of Velké Bílovice for a light lunch in a traditional Czech winery cellar, then continue to Prague.
