Nijmegen, Freedom of Choice. Arrive in Nijmegen today, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, having been founded by the Romans in the second century. Perhaps visit the 300 year-old castle and gardens of Het Loo, the former residence of the Dutch Royal Family. Alternatively, explore the National Park De Hoge Veluwe on a bicycle or walking tour before visiting the Kröller Müller Museum.BLD CRUISING THE LEGENDARY RHINE & THE BEAUTIFUL MOSELLE Day 9. Cologne, Freedom of Choice, Koblenz. Arrive in Cologne today and enjoy a choice of sightseeing options. Perhaps select from a range of themed walking tours, including a historic architecture tour or a chocolate tour. Alternatively, take a bicycle tour through the German countryside to Bonn, the birthplace Baden-Baden Black Forest Zurich 2 Lucerne SWITZERLAND of musical composer Beethoven. Later today, cruise to Koblenz, and after dinner on board, perhaps step out for a stroll. BLD Day 10. Cochem, Freedom of Choice. Wake to stunning views of the Moselle Valley this morning. Absorb the scenery as you pass landscapes of lush vineyards and rolling hills. Dock in Cochem, possibly the prettiest town in the Moselle Valley. Explore the town on a bicycle ride, or enjoy a walking tour that includes a visit to Reichsburg Castle, perched on a hill overlooking the town and the river below. Afterwards, return to your ship and cruise towards Remich. BLD Day 11. Remich, Freedom of Choice. Disembark in the wine-making town of Remich today, and upon arrival, enjoy your selected sightseeing activity. Perhaps take a guided walking tour of Trier, Germany's oldest city. See the Roman Baths, Trier Cathedral, the Basilica of Constantine and the ancient Porta Nigra gate. Alternatively, embark on an excursion to Luxembourg, one of Europe's last independent duchies, and enjoy a guided walking tour. BLD Day 12. Bernkastel. Arrive at Bernkastel today, located in the middle of the Moselle wine-producing region. This charming town is overlooked by the ruins of Castle Landshut, and boasts over 500 years of wine history. It features a medieval marketplace, half-timbered homes and beautiful town squares with fountains dating back centuries. Here you'll enjoy a guided walking tour followed by a visit to a vineyard. There, learn about the wines of the region during a wine tasting with a local vintner.
