Visit the Reichstag in Berlin, and enjoy stunning views with a glass of Sekt on its roof terrace architectural highlights – including the Old Town Hall, the World Heritage-listed city centre and the Porta Pretoria. Or take a bicycle tour to the 18th-century hillside temple of Walhalla, which honours distinguished Germans. BLD THE MAIN-DANUBE CANAL Day 18. Nuremberg, Freedom of Choice. Today your ship enters the MainDanube Canal and arrives at the highest point of the cruise. Cross Europe's Continental Divide then dock in Nuremberg. Here, perhaps visit a range of sites from the Second World War or take a medieval tour. Later, sample some local beer and sausages, or enjoy freshly-baked gingerbread with coffee. BLD THE MEANDERING MAIN RIVER Day 19. Bamberg. Enjoy a walking tour of World Heritage-listed Bamberg. Then visit a traditional Bamberg Beer Haus and enjoy some of the local brew, compliments of APT. LD B Day 20. Würzburg, Freedom of Choice. In Würzburg, perhaps tour the Residential Palace. Or travel to Rothenburg and visit its German Christmas Museum. Another option is a guided bicycle tour through Würzburg and its lovely surrounding countryside.BLD Explore the castle and grounds at your leisure, before a lavish banquet dinner in the castle's ballroom. BLD Day 21. Miltenberg. Disembark in Miltenberg, a pretty town spared from the destruction of the Second World War. Today, enjoy a taste of local life on a unique village experience. Later, explore quaint shops and mingle with the locals.BLD Day 23. Cologne, Freedom of Choice. Arrive in Cologne today and enjoy a choice of included sightseeing options. Perhaps select from a range of walking tours, or take a bicycle tour from Bonn to Cologne. BLD CRUISING THE LEGENDARY RHINE Day 22. Rüdesheim, Freedom of Choice, Andernach, A Royal Invitation. In Rüdesheim, ride the Winzerexpress mini-train to your selected sightseeing activity. Perhaps tour Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, take a ride in a gondola for views over the Rhine Valley, or explore the Rhine Valley wine region during a tour and wine tasting at a local winery. Afterwards, re-join your ship and cruise through the Rhine Gorge on what is known as the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine. Arrive in Andernach where Princess Heide von Hohenzollern has opened the doors of her turreted home exclusively for APT guests. Day 24. Amsterdam, Freedom of Choice. In Amsterdam today, perhaps take a canal cruise and admire the passing 17th-century homes, churches and merchant houses. Then explore Amsterdam's famed flower market along the banks of the canal. Alternatively, visit the Van Gogh Museum, home to the world's largest collection of Van Gogh paintings. Another option is an excursion to the picturesque village of Zaanse Schans, famous for its windmills. Tonight, enjoy a Farewell Dinner on board, then perhaps experience the city's nightlife at your leisure.BLD Day 25. Disembark Ship, Depart Amsterdam. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
