30 V I K I N G C R U I S E S Looking for a 'diet destination' for your vacation? en don't book the Viking Star 13-day Mediterranean Odyssey. The irresistible array of fine food on wine on offer – both on and off the sleek and stylish ship – will have you merrily rolling to shore at the end of your journey. BEAUTIFUL BARCELONA Kicking off in Barcelona, Spain with an on-shore Flamenco Excursion, this colourful explosion of dance was complemented with traditional tapas in a local haunt. While renowned for its tapas, jamon and paella, the sights and sounds of Barcelona prove a feast for the senses, too. e following day, I strolled the streets solo, exploring the Gothic Quarter, taking in colourful parks and breathtaking cathedrals, enjoying paella and of course, a glass of rioja in a local bodega. MARSEILLES BOUND Cruising overnight, we arrived next morning in charming Marseilles, France's third largest city where I joined the three-hour 'Scenic Marseilles', excursion. A Gastronomic MEDITERRANEAN Odyssey The Mediterranean is full of sunny skies, azure seas, cobbled villages, brilliant shopping and deep-seated history. But as Shonagh Walker discovered on our 13-day Mediterranean Odyssey itinerary, it's also a place to indulge in fine wines, signature beverages and mouth-watering meals. By Shonagh Walker Guell Park, Barcelona
