Tour Lisbon's National Tile Museum, learn about the centuries-old Portuguese tile-making tradition, then make your own decorative tile to take home with you. HISTORIC GUIMARÃES Visit the nation's first capital, Guimarães, and enjoy a guided walk through the narrow streets of Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. See Guimarães Castle, the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, the charming houses in Santa Maria Street and Praca Santiago. QUINTA DAS CARVALHAS Quinta das Carvalhas lies 1,800 feet above the Douro, and the winery's history dates back to 1756. Enjoy a guided tour through the vineyards, learn the secrets of port wine making and take in the spectacular scenery while sampling fine wines and local delicacies. BATALHA & FÁTIMA In Batalha, explore Santa Maria da Vitoria Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site that was built in the 14th century. Continue on to Fátima and visit the Our Lady of the Rosary shrine where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to three shepherd children in 1917. MARIALVA CASTLE & PICNIC Visit Marialva, a 2,500-year-old town overlooked by the ruins of a hilltop citadel. PORTO FROM THE SKY Take to the air in a helicopter and fly over the historic city of Porto, known as the 'City of Bridges'.
