Enjoy time at leisure, before tonight's Welcome Reception with your APT Cruise Director and fellow guests. Three Night Grand City Stay: Istanbul, Old City Hagia Sophia Hotel or similar. Day 2 (Mon. 21 April). Istanbul. Turkey's cultural capital is a beguiling mix of ancient and modern, of conservative and secular. On a guided tour of the city today, see Taksim Square, the hippodrome and Galata Tower. Later, explore the hulking Byzantine Hagia Sophia and visit the impressive Blue Mosque, Istanbul's most famous landmark. B Day 3 (Tues. 22 April). Istanbul, Freedom of Choice. This morning is yours at leisure to relax or explore Turkey at your own pace. This afternoon, enjoy you selected sightseeing activity. Perhaps tour Topkapi Palace; relax with a Turkish bath experience and massage; or visit the Rüstem Pasha Mosque and the Spice Bazaar. Later, head to the fascinating Chora Museum, an old Byzantine church that houses some of the world's most amazing frescos and mosaics. After your visit, indulge in a unique dinner of traditional 15th and 16th century-style Ottoman dishes at Asitane Restaurant, accompanied by live musicians performing BD soft classical Ottoman music. Day 4 (Wed. 23 April). Istanbul, Çanakkale. This morning, enjoy a cruise along the Bosphorus, a narrow strait forming a boundary between Europe and Asia. As part of the only passage between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, the Bosphorus has always been of commercial and strategic importance. Afterwards, travel to Çanakkale on the Gallipoli Peninsula. For a millennium, this peninsula has been the key to the Eastern world, as the navy that could force these straits had a good chance of capturing Istanbul. Stay: Çanakkale, Kolin Hotel. BLD Day 5 (Thurs. 24 April). Gallipoli National Park. Today, travel to Gallipoli National Park for a guided tour of the war memorials, including Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair and the 57th cemetery. Tonight, return to Anzac Cove to settle in for the Dawn Service. Here, you will be accommodated in a secure outdoor area featuring live broadcasting from Australia and New Zealand, interviews and musical performances. Our experienced guides will accompany you throughout the evening. Stay: Gallipoli Peninsula (facilities are limited and crowds will be large. As the night will be spent outdoors, a sleeping bag will be provided but be mindful that it will become cool). BL
