Arrive Amsterdam. Be met on arrival and transferred to your river ship. Seven Night Stay: a luxurious Aria or Concerto river ship. D Day 2. Amsterdam, Volendam, Edam. Cruise through Amsterdam's canals, then rejoin your ship and cruise to Volendam, a maze of fishermen's houses built on poles with a unique open harbour. Enjoy a tour, then take a bike ride through northern Holland or travel to Edam for a cheese tasting. BLD Day 3. Arnhem. Explore Arnhem today, the site of the Battle of Arnhem Bridge during World War II. Here, visit the Airbourne Museum Hartenstein, or discover the impressive castle and gardens of Het Loo Palace. BLD Day 4. Antwerp. On arrival in Antwerp, Belgium's second largest city, choose from a guided city tour or a tour taking you to sites associated with the famous 17th-century Flemish Baroque artist, Peter Paul Rubens. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure to relax or explore on your own. Alternatively, perhaps join an excursion to Brussels (own expense). During dinner, your ship will set out for the charming medieval city of Ghent. BLD Day 6. Willemstad, Kinderdjik, Schoonhoven. Cruise back to the Netherlands and through the Dutch region of Zeeland. Stop in the charming 400-year old town of Willemstad for a walking tour and private organ recital. In the afternoon, visit Kinderdijk, a lovely region renowned for having the greatest concentration of windmills in the entire country. Tonight, enjoy a special onboard musical performance as the ship cruises to Schoonhoven. BLD Day 5. Ghent. During a guided tour of Ghent today, you'll discover how the city has preserved its remarkable medieval appeal while keeping up with the fast pace of modern living. Visit a number of the city's attractions, including the Koornlei, the Graslei, the Castle of the Counts and more. Afterwards, enjoy time at leisure to further explore or perhaps take an optional excursion to the World Heritage-listed medieval city of Bruges (own expense). BLD Day 7. Utrecht, Keukenhof Gardens. Disembark in Utrecht and travel to Keukenhof Gardens to admire the spectacular display of bulb flowers in bloom. Keukenhof also features several ponds, sculpture gardens and a windmill, as well as several terraces to relax in. Then return to your ship in Amsterdam for lunch. The rest of today is at leisure, before a Farewell Dinner. BLD Day 8. Disembark, Depart Amsterdam. Disembark and be transferred to the airport.
