Monte Carlo. Tour Monte Carlo, then visit the Casino de Monte-Carlo. Tonight, enjoy a special Welcome Dinner. BD Day 3. Monte Carlo. Enjoy a day at leisure to relax or further explore Monte Carlo. B Day 4. Monte Carlo, Arles. Today, travel to Arles to board your luxury river ship. This evening, enjoy the Captain's Gala Welcome Dinner. Seven Night Stay: APT's luxurious Aria River Ship – the MS AMADAGIO. BD Day 5. Arles, Avignon. From Arles, perhaps tour the castle of Les Baux de Provence, or visit Saint Paul de Mausole Asylum, where Van Gogh spent many of his later years. Visit an olive mill in Saint-Rémy de Provence and see Arles' Roman relics, before cruising to Avignon. BLD Day 6. Avignon, Viviers. In Avignon, you may like to visit the Palace of the Popes or perhaps visit the Pont du Gard before time at leisure in Uzès. Then cruise to Viviers. BLD 32 Day 7. Viviers, Grignan, Tournon. Enjoy an excursion to Grignan, a hilltop village surrounded by lavender fields, topped by a Renaissance castle. Enjoy some free time to explore local shops for home-made lavender soaps and other crafts. Re-board your ship and set off for Tournon. BLD Day 8. Tournon, Vienne. Today, visit Tain L'Hermitage, Tournon's 'twin' town located across the Rhône River. Enjoy a wine tasting and then free time to visit the town's 16th-century castle. Then, re-board your ship and set out for the town of Vienne. BLD Day 9. Vienne, Trévoux. Enjoy a mini-train tour of Vienne or tour Chateau de Rousillion. Later, cruise along the Saône River to Trévoux, and upon arrival, take a guided tour. BLD Day 10. Beaujolais Region, Lyon. Today, enjoy a tour of the Beaujolais region. Tour the winery and home of a local vintner, and enjoy a tasting of the world-famous Beaujolais wine. Continue to Lyon and join a guided tour. BLD Day 11. Lyon, Disembark, Beaune, Paris. Disembark in Lyon and travel by coach to Paris, via Beaune. Board your luxurious river ship on the Seine River, in the heart of Paris. Seven Night Stay: MS AMALEGRO – a luxurious Aria River Ship. BD Day 12. Vernon, Giverny OR Château de Bizy. On arrival in Vernon, perhaps travel to Giverny, former home of Claude Monet. Here, visit Maison et Jardin Claude-Monet (Monet's House and Garden). Alternatively, you may choose to tour the Palace and Gardens of the Château de Bizy (subject to availability). Inspired by Versailles, Château de Bizy is still home to a branch of Emperor Napoleon's family. BLD Day 13. Vernon, Rouen. Rouen is set in the heart of the Normandy region. A city tour includes the Cathédral Notre-Dame, once subject to several Monet paintings; the Gros Horloge, a 16th-century astronomical clock; and the 14th-century courthouse where Joan of Arc was sentenced to death. BLD Day 14. Rouen, D-Day Beaches OR Pays d'Auge. Today choose from three tours. The two that trace the events of June 6, 1944 – D-Day – will take you from Rouen along the Normandy coast to Arromanches. One option visits the US cemetery of Colleville/Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer and the Pointe du Hoc Ranger Monument. The second includes a visit to Canada's Second World War Museum, the US cemetery of Colleville/ Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, and the Pegasus Monument. Alternatively, the third option is a trip to the rural Pays d'Auge region, taking in the sights of Beuvron-en-Auge, Crevecoeur-en-Auge and Cambremer along the Cider Route. BLD Day 15. Rouen, Honfleur OR Norman Abbey Circuit. Once again today, you'll enjoy a choice of activities. Perhaps join an excursion to pretty Honfleur for a sightseeing tour and some free time to roam the cobblestone streets. Alternatively, travel a stretch of the historical Routes des Abbayes (Norman Abbey Circuit). Visit the ruins of Jumièges and discover the beautiful abbey of Saint-Wandrille. BLD
