bushtelegraph Body of work Body Festival Dubbo, held on January 26 and 27, is a celebration of body art that features competitions and demonstrations by contemporary and Indigenous artists. Tim Gratton, two-time World Bodypainting Champion, will present his latest work and launch his Pink Angels Body Art Calendar 2013 to raise funds for Pink Angels, a local breast cancer support group. www.bodyfestival.org Added sugar overload Recent research by The University of Sydney has revealed Aussie kids are increasingly consuming too much added sugar, with boys aged 14 to 16 reaching an average daily intake of 22 teaspoons. 'Added' sugar is added during processing – on top of naturally occurring sugar in food. The World Health Organization recommends children obtain no more than 10 per cent of their total energy intake from added sugars, but research shows boys are consuming closer to 13 per cent. Sugar-laden soft drinks and sweetened cordials are among the main culprits, as they offer no nutrients but plenty of unwanted calories. Gull's-eye view For a different perspective on the Great Barrier Reef, see this national treasure from above and be awe-struck by its magnificence.
