Home Valley Station stay Day 1. Arrive Broome, Cable Beach. Be met at the airport and transferred to Cable Beach's only beachfront hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore or relax. Two Night Stay: Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa. Day 2. Dampier Peninsula, Cape Leveque, Broome. Journey up the spectacular Dampier Peninsula. Travelling up the red 4WD track and visit Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community, home of the Beagle Bay Church and its glimmering pearl shell altar. Visit One Arm Point Community, the perfect place to view the spectacular Buccaneer Archipelago and witness the huge tidal flows of the Kimberley before reaching beautiful Cape Leveque (locally known as Kooljaman), for a delicious lunch of Cone Bay Barramundi and an afternoon on the pristine beaches and spectacular coastline the cape is renowned for. Whether you prefer swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing or taking a long walk along the beach, the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Returning south, we visit Lombadina Aboriginal Community to see their old bush timber church and local craft shop. BL Day 3. Broome, Boab Prison Tree, Gibb River Road, Windjana Gorge, Tunnel Creek. Stop on the outskirts of Derby, where the infamous Boab Prison Tree stands. Believed to be more than 1,500 years old, its hollowed interior once acted as a prison cell. We then turn on to the scenic Gibb River Road, stopping at Windjana Gorge for a short hike. View ancient marine fossils, as well as the odd crocodile. Continue to Tunnel Creek, where we explore the length of a 750 metre natural tunnel carved through the Napier Range that ends at an oasis. Drive on to our wilderness lodge, located in the heart of Ngarinyin country. Two Night Stay: EXCLUSIVE! Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge, with private ensuites, Gibb River Road. 44 Day 4. Bell Gorge, Hiking and Swimming. We head out today along the Gibb River Road to enjoy a day in the picturesque landscape of Bell Gorge. Here, you'll be able to swim in the numerous waterholes and beneath a waterfall. You might wish to explore the area and its abundant wildlife on a hike. We then head back for a sumptuous dinner at our lodge. BLD Day 5. Galvans Gorge, Barnett River Gorge, Drysdale River Station. Encounter some of the region's most secluded gorges as we traverse Kimberley cattle country. Visit Galvans Gorge, where we'll enjoy a short walk to a delightful waterhole, and come across ancient Aboriginal rock art. Back on the road, we then head to Barnett River Gorge to enjoy a picnic lunch under the shade of the paperbark trees, and perhaps a refreshing swim. Then, we travel towards the remote Mitchell Plateau, and spend a night at Drysdale River Station, a working cattle property full of outback character. Stay: Drysdale River Station, Kalumburu Road. BLD BLD Day 6. Mitchell Plateau, King Edward River, Gwion (Bradshaw) Art. Crossing the Drysdale River, the road begins to rise as we venture into the absorbing landscapes of the Mitchell Plateau. The region is also home to an impressive array of Wandjina and Gwion (Bradshaw) art that few people get to see. We'll stop on the banks of the majestic King Edward River, where you're welcome to enjoy a refreshing swim. Driving on through the rugged countryside, we arrive at our wilderness lodge, our home for the next two nights. Surrender to nature as you watch for wildlife from your deck.
