Kununurra. Arrive in Kununurra today, gateway to the east Kimberley. Enjoy the day at leisure to relax or explore. Two Night Stay: Kununurra Country Club Resort, Kununurra. Day 2. Lake Argyle, Ord River Cruise. Visit Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere. Then discover the historic Durack Homestead and take a wildlife cruise down the mighty Ord River. Day 3. Purnululu National Park. Fly to Purnululu National Park and tour the spectacular Cathedral Gorge, where you may like to test the acoustics of this natural amplifier. Two Night Stay: EXCLUSIVE! Stay in tented cabins with private ensuites at the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge, Purnululu National Park. Day 4. Bungle Bungle, Northern Gorges. Take a guided walk through the towering natural rock formation of Echidna Chasm, then walk to the beautiful oasis of Mini Palms Gorge. Day 5. Fly To Kununurra, El Questro. Board a scenic flight to Kununurra then travel to El Questro Wilderness Park, a million-acre station that stretches to the horizon in each direction. Stay: Tented cabins with private ensuites at Emma Gorge Resort, El Questro. Day 6. Kununurra. Transfer by road from El Questro to Kununurra, where your tour concludes on arrival. Take a scenic flight over Lake Argyle into Purnululu National Park and walk into the natural amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge. Here, you can test out the amazing acoustics. Then, trek along the ancient dry river bed of Piccaninny Creek for a close inspection of the orange and black striped Bungle Bungle domes that have become some of the most iconic images of the outback. The walk into Echidna Chasm takes us along a trail spotted with Livistona palms and through towering bright-orange cliffs. Created by millions of wet season rains, the chasm can often be as 78 LD little as a metre in width. Next, walk to pretty Mini Palms Gorge for an afternoon of discovery. BLD Day 3. Argyle Diamond Mine, Purnululu National Park, Kununurra. Departing Purnululu National Park this morning, board a scenic flight to the Argyle Diamond Mine. Tour the operations centre and marvel at the rare pink diamonds on display. The mine is regarded as the world's largest diamond producer by sheer volume, and digs up over 90 per cent of the planet's pink diamonds. After lunch, fly back to Kununurra where your tour concludes. Note: A strict 10 kg maximum luggage weight applies. This tour requires a minimum of two passengers. Children under 12 not permitted at the mine on Day 3.
