Monkey Mia Wild Dolphins, World Heritage-listed Shark Bay, Murchison River Region, Wooleen Station. This morning at Monkey Mia, see the famous wild dolphins that swim close to shore as local rangers undertake a dolphin feeding demonstration for guests (subject to appearance). From here veer away from the coast and travel inland to the Murchison River region – the only shire in Australia without a town. Travel to Wooleen Station, a former sheep and cattle station, which is committed to preserving the unique ecology of the region through inspiring initiatives. Late this afternoon, join a tour to a special visiting area to witness a dramatic sunset and enjoy a talk from your host about this unique part of Western Australia. Stay: Wooleen Station, historic homestead or cottages, shared facilities. Day 12. Geraldton. Today's journey takes us through the mid-west 'Wildflower Way'. From July to September, stunning pink, white and yellow everlasting flowers carpet the plains in a spectacular display. Continue to the coastal city of Geraldton and visit Fisherman's Wharf and the hilltop memorial to the 645 lost sailors of HMAS Sydney II's maritime disaster in 1941. Stay: Ocean Centre, Geraldton.
