World Heritage Purnululu National Park. Journey deep into Purnululu National Park, a spectacular wilderness region that is home to some of the country's most striking geological formations. We'll travel the Spring Creek Track into the Bungle Bungle Range, where you'll discover the magic of Purnululu for yourself as you gaze at the distinctly unique black and orange striped domes. Here, we'll hike into the geological marvel that is Echidna Chasm, a spectacular cleft in the rock massif that, at times, narrows to two metres in width as it shoots up over 200 metres in height. Perhaps enjoy an optional helicopter flight (own expense) before journeying to Piccaninny Creek and Cathedral Gorge. Walk among the beehive domes as your guide brings the natural history of the range to life. Learn about bushtucker, bush medicine and the area's significance to local Aborigines. Enjoy a drink as the sun sets over the iconic domes of the Bungle Bungle Range. BLD Day 11. Kununurra, Ord River Scheme. Travel through the rugged red landscape to Kununurra, the gateway to the eastern Kimberley, and home of the Ord River Scheme, one of Australia's great engineering feats. Stay: Kununurra Country Club Resort. Board a guided cruise along Kakadu's Yellow Water Billabong. Keep an eye out for estuarine crocodiles that call these waters home. You'll then indulge in sunset drinks this evening in this pristine wilderness. Day 15. Guluyambi Cruise, Ubirr Rock Art, Darwin. We cruise along the East Alligator River on the Guluyambi Cruise. Our Aboriginal guide will explain the culture, history and wildlife of the region. Then, we'll travel to Ubirr to explore rock art before continuing to Darwin.
