Our Passionate People With over 80 years combined experience guiding in the region, our Driver-Guides are the most knowledgeable and experienced to show you the Kimberley like no other. Dedicated Driver-Guides As the Kimberley's number one tour operator, two of the key ingredients to our success are the enthusiasm and commitment of our specialist Kimberley staff. From your knowledgeable Driver-Guide to the operations staff who ensure your trip runs smoothly, every last member of our team is determined to make sure your experience of this stunning part of Australia is unforgettable. In their reliable hands, safety is paramount and your enjoyment enhanced beyond compare. Our guides are passionate about the quality of the experience they deliver, and giving you as much insight into the region as possible. Many are tertiary educated and some are currently undertaking study in the areas of: horticulture, tropical and arid ecology; cultural heritage and conservation; as well as anthropology and astronomy, which helps enrich your experience. A Deeper Insight Apart from having your own professional Driver-Guide on all small group tours, we endeavour to have Aboriginal guides join you where available. Their insightful commentary on Indigenous rock art and the area's natural features really connect you with the land, and bring this spellbinding part of Australia to life. Be shown all the beautiful aspects of the Kimberley Walks Escorted by Two Guides For your safety and peace of mind, you will be accompanied by two professional APT guides on the more challenging walks to Bell Gorge and Mitchell Falls. This means you'll be able to receive greater assistance, as well as enjoy a more personalised experience. Our Driver-Guide was exceptional...his knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, the Kimberley has made our trip a truly life- enriching experience. – R. & J. Neich, Kimberley Complete www.kimberleywilderness.com.au 15 Driver-Guide: Russell 'Rusty' Kelaart I joined APT's Kimberley Wilderness Adventures in 2006 and the Kimberley is the place to visit if you want to experience the real Australian outback. I've really enjoyed learning more about the Aboriginal people and their culture, and we have a great partnership with many of the local people and communities. My favourite trip is our Broome- Darwin (and reverse) trip which I call the 'Hamburger with the Lot' tour– where you'll see the best of the Kimberley and visit Kakadu too. What I love about the job are the gorges and swimming holes we get to visit, as well as seeing the looks on people's faces as they experience these wild places.
