Mitchell Plateau, Drysdale, Cockburn Ranges. Farewell the awe-inspiring scenery of the Mitchell Plateau today, and enjoy 'the best burger in the Kimberley' for lunch at Drysdale River Station. Then, rejoining the Gibb River Road, ford the Durack River. Later, admire the Cockburn Ranges en route to Home Valley Station. Gain a fun-filled insight into the operation of a working cattle station on a Station Tour this morning. Discover Home Valley's Indigenous training project, meet 'Moo' the pet bullock, spot crocodiles at Ryder's Hole and see where the movie 'Australia' was filmed. APT guests will enjoy privileged access to areas within the Station that aren't accessible to self-drive tourists. Later, cross the Pentecost River into El Questro Wilderness Park – one million acres in the Kimberley wilderness. Hike into picturesque Emma Gorge, where you can indulge in a revitalising swim. At Emma Gorge Resort, absorb the serene surrounds before dinner. Stay: Tented cabins with spacious ensuites at Emma Gorge Resort, El Questro. Day 8. El Questro, Wyndham, Parry's Lagoon. Soak in the hot pools of Zebedee Springs and visit the station township. Head to Wyndham and take in spectacular views of Cambridge Gulf. Enjoy lunch at an iconic Outback pub before visiting Parry's Lagoon, a bird watchers paradise. Continue to Kununurra. Two Night Stay: Kununurra, Country Club Resort. Day 9. Ord River and Lake Kununurra Cruise. This morning you have some free time to explore Kununurra. Then travel to Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere. This afternoon, join a spectacular wildlife cruise on the mighty Ord River. From modern, shaded vessels you'll witness an ecological system that has developed from the damming of the Ord River at two locations. What has resulted in between is an area rich in wildlife, flora and scenic beauty. Enjoy a beautiful sunset while cruising Lake Kununurra. Explore this wilderness region that was awarded World Heritage status in 2003. Hike into Echidna Chasm, a spectacular cleft in the rock massif.
