Let Our People Enhance Local Aboriginal guides further enhance your experience Your Experience As the Kimberley and Outback's leading tour operator, one of the key ingredients in our success is the enthusiasm and commitment of our specialist staff. From your knowledgeable Driver-Guide to the operations staff on standby to ensure your trip runs smoothly, every last member of our team is determined to make sure your experience of Australia is unforgettable. In their reliable hands, your safety is assured and your enjoyment enhanced beyond compare. No other operator can match our people for sheer passion. APT's 85 years of touring experience means we know how to turn a good holiday, into a great one. Expert Local Guides Provide In-Depth Commentary We understand that, in certain locations, it takes a local to show you the hidden gems that only residents know about. That's why, in select destinations, you'll gain a deeper insight and enjoy the added benefit of in-depth commentary from local or Aboriginal guides. For instance, in Mungo National Park, a local Desert Guide will share his historical and geological knowledge and provide an insight into Indigenous culture. Driver-Guide: Russell 'Rusty' Kelaart I joined APT back in 2006. I've enjoyed learning more about the Aboriginal people and culture and we have great partnerships with many of the local people and communities. My favourite trip is our Broome-Darwin (and reverse) trip – you'll see the best of the Kimberley region and visit Kakadu too. I like to call this the 'Hamburger with the Lot' tour. I love the beautiful gorges and swimming holes we get to visit, and I just love seeing the looks on people's faces as they experience these wild places. Lodge Host: Amanda Patterson My love for the rural life began at a young age. I spent time as a jillaroo, as a mother, and more recently worked in the hospitality industry in a number of roles from maitre d' to reception manager. When I saw the Lodge Host role with APT advertised my sense of adventure was piqued and I haven't looked back since. Imagine the privilege of living in a World Heritage-listed park such as Purnululu and welcoming a diverse cross-section of people into your home each day. For me, the best part of the job is the satisfaction of knowing our guests' experience with us has been comfortable and of a high standard – they are very happy 'glampers' indeed! www.aptouring.com.au 15
