Depart Broome, Geikie Gorge Cruise. We begin our amazing adventure across the rugged wilderness frontier of the Kimberley and into the Top End. Today we bid the azure waters of Broome goodbye and travel inland to historic Fitzroy Crossing, where early settlers forded the mighty Fitzroy River. In times of flood, this waterway becomes one of the world's longest rivers. We'll spend the afternoon on a spectacular cruise along Geikie Gorge, discovering the stunning waterway hemmed by limestone walls, which have been intriguingly bleached white by thousands of years of annual flooding, a truly wonderful sight to behold. This evening, relax and recharge at the Fitzroy River Lodge, set amongst fifty acres of native bush along the banks of the Fitzroy River. Stay: Fitzroy Crossing, Fitzroy River Lodge. Day 3. Galvans Gorge. Travel through Kimberley cattle country, discovering secluded gorges. At Galvans Gorge, a short walk leads to a picturesque waterhole, at the base of steep cliffs. See the incredible Wandjina art site here, before reboarding our 4WD vehicle and continuing along the incredible Gibb River Road. Take in the amazing views as you are surrounded by age-old rock formations, incredible wildlife and enchanting gorges. Get ready for some more adventure as our 4WD vehicle fords the Pentecost and Durack rivers, where saltwater crocodiles inhabit the deceptively calm waters. Arrive this afternoon at Emma Gorge Resort. Two Night Stay: Tented cabins with private facilities at Emma Gorge Resort, El Questro. BLD LD Day 2. Windjana Gorge, King Leopold Ranges. Today, we journey through this majestic countryside and arrive at Windjana Gorge, where sheer cliffs tower above white sands. At the base of the ancient gorge, deep freshwater pools surrounded by native fig, cadjeput and liechhardt trees attract flocks of noisy corellas and fruit bats. Look out for the fresh water crocodiles that laze on the banks of the Lennard River, which runs through the gorge. Then, set off on a journey along the famous Outback highway, the Gibb River Road. A 660 kilometre dirt road, the Gibb River Road takes you through a dramatic and ever-changing landscape of intensely coloured ranges and spectacular gorges. Continue on to APT's exclusive Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge. Stay: EXCLUSIVE! Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge, with private ensuites, Gibb River Road. BLD Day 4. Zebedee Springs, Chamberlain Gorge Cruise, Emma Gorge. Today you have the whole day to discover the wonders of almighty El Questro. This wilderness park extends for nearly one million acres and boasts four major river systems, from fresh water springs to the salt-water estuaries in the northern part of the property. Here you'll find an abundance of animals, fish and bird life congregating near rivers and waterholes. This morning, walk to the beautiful thermal pools of Zebedee Springs in the cool of a Kimberley palm forest. Perhaps take a dip, before joining a local ranger, for a cruise along Chamberlain Gorge, a 3 kilometre long fresh waterway fringed by tropical vegetation and rugged escarpments. This afternoon, travel back to Emma Gorge Resort, where you can relax, and absorb the serene surrounds before dinner or take a challenging hike into picturesque Emma Gorge where you may choose to indulge in a revitalising swim.
