Begin the excursion with a snowmobile-drawn sleigh across frozen fjords, then through a hole in the ice, you will be shown how to catch the magnificent Arctic King Crab. Continue by sleigh to the nearby Fisherman's Lodge, where by a cosy log fire, your King Crab meal awaits. This afternoon, return to the Snow Hotel to see the resident reindeers and visit the biggest husky dog farm in eastern Finnmark. You may also wish to return to Kirkenes Village for a walking tour. BLD Day 7. Nikel. Cross the border back into Russia and re-join the Golden Eagle. Four Night Stay: Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express. BLD Day 8. Murmansk. Visit Murmansk, a historic city halfway between Moscow and the North Pole. A home port of Russia's nuclear-powered icebreakers, be given the opportunity to take a guided tour of the Nuclear Icebreaker Museum Ship. BLD Day 9. Petrozavodsk, Kizhi Island. Stretching along the shore of Lake Onega, enjoy a tour of Petrozavodsk, one of the major cultural and industrial centres of North- West Russia. Afterwards, take a hovercraft transfer to Kizhi Island to explore its open-air museum of wooden architecture. Marvel at wooden churches built without the use of nails which have all survived the changes of Russian winters and revolution. BLD Day 10. Vladimir, Suzdal. One of Russia's oldest communities, the historic city of Vladimir has since been decreed a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, take a tour of the Uspensky Cathedral, built between the twelfth and fifteenth centuries. Considered one of the most important Russian cathedrals, see where many of the prominent Russian Tsars were crowned. Travel to Suzdal, one of Russia's most perfectly preserved walled cities dating back to 1024. Visit the atmospheric St Euthymius Monastery to witness an enchanting choral performance by the resident monks. No winter experience would be complete without a horse-drawn sleigh ride through this stunning town. BLD Day 11. Moscow. Disembark your train in Moscow and take a tour of the Red Square, an iconic symbol of Russia's former military and political might. See the iconic St Basil's Cathedral's magnificent onion-domed spires, the beautiful façade of the GUM Department store, and the evocative site of Lenin's tomb. Later, pay a visit to the spiritual, historical and political heart of Moscow at the Kremlin and see the treasures of the Tsars in the Armoury Chamber. Stay: Moscow, Ritz Carlton. BLD Day 12. Moscow. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
