Head to Rethymno, where you will visit the traditional Agrecofarm, with its stone outhouses and acres of organic gardens. Delving deep into Cretan tradition, Agrecofarm has revived centuries-old organic farming practices in a unique expression. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch prepared with organic produce sourced on the farm. The rest of the day is yours at leisure. Tonight, you will have the opportunity to meet with a local war expert, where you will gain an insight into the Battle of Crete, in preparation for tomorrow's sightseeing. BL Day 3. Chania. Retrace parts of the Battle of Crete today and learn about the soldiers who fought valiantly against the forces of the Axis. See the famous Hill 107, the Tavronitis Bridge and the areas where battles were fought in 1941, when Nazi Germany began an airborne invasion of Crete. Enjoy the afternoon as you please. Chania, Heraklion, Elounda. From the west coast of Chania, travel east to the port town of Elounda. On the way, visit Knossos, which was undeniably the capital of Minoan Crete, and then explore the Palace of the Minoans. Afterwards, visit the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion, before arriving in Elounda, a picturesque fishing village in the lovely Mirabello Bay. Three Night Stay: Elounda Bay Palace, staying in a Sea View Room. B Day 5. Elounda, Sitia, Vai. Visit the town of Sitia, a small seaside town known for its wide promenade and relaxed low-key atmosphere. Continue to Vai on the east coast, which has the largest palm tree forest in Europe made up of Cretan Date Palm. Afterwards, visit the Monastery of Panagia Akrotiriani (Our Lady of Akrotiri), easily one of the most important and beautiful monasteries in Crete. Built in the 15th century, its location and setting is one-of-a-kind and looks like a small medieval fortress surrounded by a 10-metre-high wall. Return to your hotel afterwards with free time in the afternoon. B Day 6. Elounda, Spinalonga. Embark on a guided tour of one of the most amazing island fortresses, Spinalonga. Originally built as a fortress in 1579, the island also known as Leper Island was later used as a quarantine for sufferers of Hansen's disease. Due to the strategic position of the rocky islet for the control and defence of Elounda harbour, Spinalonga has also held a turbulent history of fierce battles and much human suffering. The afternoon is yours at leisure to either relax in the sublime surrounds of your resort, or perhaps enjoy a leisurely stroll into the village centre of Elounda and soak up the traditional Cretan atmosphere. This evening, say goodbye to new-found friends at a Farewell Dinner. BD Day 7. Depart Elounda. After breakfast, be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
