THE SMALL SHIP EXPERIENCE
The advantages of cruising by small ship are numerous.
They include small group sizes on all excursions ashore,
no queuing to disembark while in port, and a relaxed
atmosphere at all times. Offering enticing adventure
while in complete comfort, small ship cruising is all about
uncovering the world's treasures in style. On these journeys,
APT offers two different, but equally memorable cruising
experiences, Soft Expedition and Expedition cruises.
For both, all sightseeing, food and beverages while
on board are included.
SOFT EXPEDITION SMALL SHIP CRUISING
Our Soft Expedition cruises allow you to tailor the
level of adventure to your interests with a range of
gentle and active excursions led by a team of up to five
Expedition Team members. Soft Expeditions offer the
perfect combination of immersive experiences in small
towns and big cities.
EXPEDITION SMALL SHIP CRUISING
Expedition cruises are more active and involve regular use
of the ship's 10 Zodiac vessels, which are invaluable for
exploration. These cruises feature the services of an expert
APT Expedition Leader and up to 10 Expedition Team
members including naturalists, marine biologists, historians
and photographers. This style of cruising provides a chance
to explore destinations that few have visited before.
OVERNIGHT STAYS & LATE DEPARTURES
On many itineraries your small ship will dock overnight in
select ports or stay until late in the evening to allow you to
immerse yourself in the local lifestyle. Late departures will
set sail after 10pm giving you the chance to find an intimate
restaurant or cosy bar to relax in for the evening. Look for
the moon icon on select itineraries for evenings you
can spend in port.
