82 | GRAND EXPEDITIONS and the Gothic Saint Andrew's Cathedral. Enjoy an evening stroll as your ship overnights in port at Bordeaux. BLD' Day 21. Bordeaux. Drive to the Saint Emilion region through Entre-Deux-Mers and Pomerol vineyards where Merlot grape dominates. Visit a wine chateau for a tasting and learn the techniques of wine making. See the magnificent Saint-Emilion village with free time to explore the town with buildings from the 8th to 12th century. You will also see the Cadene Gate and the King's Tower. Return to your ship for dinner. BLD Day 22. Bilbao. On a tour of Bilbao learn about the city's industrial history. Visit Puente de Bizkaia, the Alhondiga, Moyúa Square, and the Isozaki Atea before a walk to the Guggenheim Museum. Tour the contemporary art collection of the museum. BLD Day 23. Gijon. Visit Mirador de la Providencia, overlooking Gijón and the Cantabric Coast. Continue to the Laboral City of Culture to explore its gardens and mail square. Next stop at a traditional cider 'llagar' to savour the local cider and Asturian cheese. Walk around Gijón's Old Quarter, beginning at the Marqués Square with its memorial to Don Pelayo, continue to the Mayor Square, including City Hall, and enjoy free time to explore the narrow streets of the city centre. BLD Day 24. A Coruna. Discover A Coruna's food scene with a tour from the pier to the local markets, savouring local tapas with fine local wines. Those feeling more active might like to set off on a bicycle tour, passing by the Galleries, San Anton Castle and the Tower of Hercules. BLD Day 25. Porto. Arrive in Porto and head to the wine country of the Douro Valley. Stop at Amarante, a small town with charming 16th-century houses overlooking the Tamega River. Visit a Portuguese family estate, where you'll enjoy a wine tasting before a traditional lunch with the family. BLD Day 26. Disembark Ship, Depart Lisbon. Disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your onward flight. B Take a tram ride on one of the colourful tramcars in Lisbon Day 17. Saint Malo, Mont Saint-Michel. Journey to the island of Mont Saint- Michel and visit the abbey. Continue to Cancale and visit an oyster farm for a tasting. Alternatively, discover Saint Malo's colourful history on a tour of the old city, including a tasting of local cider and biscuits. BLD Day 18. Douarnenez, Quimper, Locronan. At the pretty town of Quimper, discover a long tradition of pottery making and visit the 13th-century Cathedral of Saint Corentin. Continue to the medieval village of Locronan, once a prosperous centre for sailcloth manufacturing. BLD Day 19. Belle Ile. Visit the various quarters of Vauban Citadel. Hear about the intriguing history of pirates and armies who invaded the island. Enjoy wonderful views over Le Palais port and little town, the coastline and far away Islands and free time in the town. BLD Day 20. Bordeaux. Travel to World Heritage-listed Bordeaux and enjoy a splendid panoramic tour, followed by a guided walk through Old Bordeaux, including the Place de la Bourse
