Zürich, Lucerne. Tour Zürich, then travel to Lucerne for fondue and yodelling at a local folk restaurant. Two Night Stay: Lucerne, Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. BD Day 3. Lucerne. Enjoy a tour of Lucerne, and cruise on Lake Lucerne, taking in the idyllic scenery of the bays and alpine landscapes, dominated by Mt Pilatus. Take the world's steepest cogwheel train to Mt Pilatus, then descend by a scenic gondola. Later, meet a retired member of the Swiss Army and learn about their way of life. B Day 4. Interlaken, Gruyères, Gstaad. See the beautiful alpine landscapes with stops in both Interlaken and Gruyères. Continue to Gstaad, for afternoon tea at your luxurious hotel on Schönried sun terrace. Stay: Schönried (Gstaad), Ermitage Hotel. BD Day 5. Lake Geneva, Lavaux, Zermatt. Journey to the world-famous Lavaux wine region for a delightful wine tasting overlooking spectacular Lake Geneva. Continue to Zermatt and enjoy dinner accompanied by the local Heida wine. Two Night Stay: Zermatt, Hotel Monte Rosa or similar. BD Day 6. Zermatt. Ride the Gornergrat Railway for sublime vistas of the towering Matterhorn. Enjoy unobstructed views of the Swiss Alps, with several peaks reaching heights of over 4,000 metres. Meet a retired mountaineer and hear the tales of mountain climbing and see the one-of-a-kind cemetery for climbers. B Day 7. Zermatt, St Moritz. Leave Zermatt aboard the Glacier Express and travel through the Swiss Alps. View the magnificent scenery from its panoramic cars whilst enjoying lunch on board as the train climbs over the Oberalp Pass and through many historic towns and villages, tunnels, switchbacks and viaducts to reach St. Moritz. Stay: St Moritz, Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains or similar.
