17 17 A Day on Safari Encounter legendary wildlife up-close, from the very best seat in the house On a Travelmarvel safari, you'll be privy to Africa's daily soap opera of life in the wild. Here's a taste of what to expect as you head out into the African bush. 5.30am – The thrill of seeing Africa's wildlife up-close will have you bounding out of bed. Settle in with a cup of tea or coffee as you watch the sun rise over the misty savannah. The animals are just beginning to emerge from their slumber, which is the perfect time for us to head out and observe them in action. 6am – Excitement builds as you clamber aboard 4WDs. Your game driver/tracker will lead you through a range of habitats – along dusty dirt roads, tangles of grassy bushland, tranquil rivers and acacia-rich plains – following paw prints and animal calls in search of the elusive Big Five. 9am – Return to your lodge and indulge in a safari breakfast buffet with all the trimmings, before a relaxing morning enjoying the facilities of your lodge. Take a dip in the pool, melt into a sun lounger with a good book or look out for sneaky wildlife that may wander off course and close to the lodge. 1pm – Lunch is served followed by some more free time. 3.30pm – You may be in the middle of the African bush, but there's certainly no shortage of food. Tuck in to some refreshments in preparation for your next exhilarating game drive. 4pm – The landscapes come alive just before sunset and you have a front-row seat to nature at its most magical. Charge along beside crocodile infested rivers and slow down through the sweeping plains. Will you lock eyes with a lion, staring you down between the tall strands of grass? Or spy giraffes swaying their lengthy limbs back and forth? Raise a glass to your day of wildlife encounters with sundowner drinks as you take in the sunset. 7pm – After dinner back at your lodge, relax around the campfire with a nightcap. As you gaze up at the clear night sky that glitters with bright stars, you can only imagine what awaits you on safari tomorrow. travelmarvel.com.au
