Our journeys maximise your chances of
an encounter with these famous animals
as we take you to the best range of
African game parks. No matter how many
wildlife documentaries you've watched,
nothing compares to glimpsing the
Big Five in the flesh.
WILDLIFE GREAT & SMALL
There's no denying that watching a herd of
elephants marching through the bush will
be a highlight of your time in the wild, but
a safari isn't all about searching for the
Big Five. Keen birdwatchers will be glad
to spot a host of colourful native birdlife,
such as superb starlings, secretary birds
and Fischer's lovebirds to name just a few.
And not to be forgotten, the smaller
mammals are also sure to thrill all animal
enthusiasts. From mobs of meerkats to
aardvarks, warthogs to the tiny fennec fox,
Africa truly is where the wild things are,
both great and small.
EAST AFRICA'S GREAT MIGRATION
Each year, more than a million wildebeest,
zebras and gazelles migrate between the
vast plains of the Serengeti (in Tanzania)
and the Masai Mara (in Kenya). While these
animals search for rain-ripened grass, they
are also pursued by a host of predators.
See the map (above) for more information
about the migration's movements
throughout the year*.
*Please note: as it is a natural event, the migration
changes in timing and location each year. The above
map should be used as a general guideline only.
1. Small group 4WD safaris get you incredibly close to Africa's wild animals
