Te Anau, Dunedin This morning travel through the spectacular Southland countryside to Pukerangi where you will board the Taieri Gorge Railway, one of the world's greatest train trips. The train snakes through tunnels and over bridges as it makes its way through incredible landscapes to Dunedin. Known as the Edinburgh of the south, Dunedin was planned in Scotland and still maintains its grand Victorian heritage. Stay: Scenic Hotel Dunedin City. BD New Zealand Rail Adventure 1 Day 13. Dunedin, Seasider Train, Mt Cook, Lake Tekapo This morning, board the Seasider Train. Travel along the edge of the Otago Harbour before climbing the gentle slopes of Port Chalmers and along the pacific coast, before disembarking at Palmerston and rejoining the coach to continue to Oamaru. Journey north to view the unusual Moeraki Boulders. These large spherical stones, formed over 60 million years ago, can be found along a stretch of Koekohe Beach on the Otago Coast.
