RAILWAY
Colorado's Durango and Silverton
Railway is a narrow gauge railroad
that operates a historical train with
rolling stock indigenous to the
70 kilometre line. The locomotives
are 1923-25 vintage, coal-fired and
steam-operated. Open gondola cars
provide a panoramic view of the
Colorado mountains.
DENVER & RIO GRANDE
The historic route of the Denver
and Rio Grande Scenic Railroad
takes you over tracks that date back
to the gold and silver rush. Journey
along the beautiful Rio Grande River
to Wagon Wheel Gap, a spectacular
mountain resort area known for its
hot springs.

the Lookout Mountain Incline
Railway. Built in 1895 to service
a hotel at the top of the mountain,
part of the track has an incline of
more than 70 per cent, making it the
world's steepest passenger railway.
