Arrive Oslo Arrive in Oslo and transfer to your hotel. Take time to settle in before dinner with your fellow travellers. Two Nights : Oslo, Thon Hotel Opera. D Day 2. Oslo Discover the main sights of Oslo during a guided tour, which includes sights such as Akershus Castle and the new Opera House. Enjoy free time this afternoon to further explore the city. B Day 3. Oslo, Trondheim Leave Oslo and journey north by rail along the Dovre Railway, through the majestic landscapes of the Gudbrandsdal Valley. The journey concludes at Trondheim, one of Norway's oldest cities. Two Nights: Trondheim, Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel. BD Day 4. Trondheim The historic beauty of Trondheim is revealed on a morning walking tour. Wander cobbled streets and marvel at the Old Town's architecturally significant buildings including churches, cathedrals and bridges. After the tour you are free to explore Trondheim at leisure. B Day 5. Trondheim to Bodø Embark on a spectacular rail journey north along the Nordland Railway. Cross the Arctic Circle shortly before reaching the town of Lonsdal. The train reaches Fauske before turning due west for the final short section of the journey to Bodø, widely regarded as 'the city with the world's most beautiful coastline'. Stay: Bodø, Clarion Collection Hotel Grand Bodø or Thon Hotel Nordlys. BD Day 6. Bodø, Svolvær After a leisurely morning in Bodø, you'll board the Hurtigruten ship this afternoon and travel from Bodø to Svolvær, the tiny capital of the Lofoten Islands. Two Nights: Svolvær, Thon Hotel Lofoten. B Day 7. Høv, Northern Lights Your morning is free to explore Svolvær and the Lofoten Islands at leisure. In the late afternoon, travel by coach to Høv, where there is barely any light pollution. Enjoy a meal of local produce followed by a photo lesson from an expert in capturing the Northern Lights, and a walk outside to try and see and photograph the Aurora. BL Day 8. Svolvær, Narvik We leave Svolvær by coach this morning, and return to the Norwegian mainland, to the seaport of Narvik. Stay: Narvik, Rica Hotel. B Day 9. Narvik, Kiruna Today, travel on the Ofoten Railway to Narvik. Continue on this line over the Swedish border to Kiruna, home of the famous Ice Hotel. Two Nights: Kiruna, Scandic Ferrum Hotel. BL Day 10. Kiruna This morning you are free to explore Kiruna at leisure. In the afternoon learn about Sweden's indigenous people in a 'Sami experience'. Later, try and view the Northern Lights once again. BD Day 11. Depart Kiruna After breakfast transfer to airport for your onward flight via Stockholm.
