After lunch, you'll have the opportunity to watch a captivating flamenco show, where dancers will astound you with their stomping feet and fiery performance (own expense). You'll return to the ship back over the border in Barca d'Alva, the last Portuguese village along the Douro. Tonight, you'll be joined by the commander of your ship for a special Captain's Dinner. BLD Day 5. Barca d'Alva, Régua This morning, enjoy a fascinating Portuguese cooking demonstration on board as your ship cruises towards Cais Espinho. On arrival, you will disembark and enjoy time at leisure to explore this delightful town. Later, you'll regroup and head to the Quinta do Seixo winery, which boasts outstanding views over the Douro Valley. Here, you'll enjoy a tasting of local port wine, Portugal's most famous tipple. Afterwards, board a coach and take a scenic drive past swathes of expansive vineyards to meet your ship in Régua. This afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit Mateus Castle near Vila Real. Tonight, enjoy a sumptuous Portuguese barbecue back on board. BLD Day 6. Régua, Lamego, Entre-os-Rios This morning, enjoy free time to explore Régua— you may like to wander along the riverfront, or venture into the lovely Old Town. This afternoon you'll travel to Lamego, to visit one of Portugal's best museums. Once an episcopal palace, this beautiful building is home to a vast collection of paintings, tapestries and jewellery. Afterwards, return to where your ship waits in Pinhão and continue on to Entre-os-Rios. On arrival this evening, enjoy free time to explore this gorgeous, vibrant town as you please. BLD Day 7. Entre-os-Rios, Vila Nova de Gaia This morning, cruise back to the enchanting city of Vila Nova de Gaia, on the southern bank of the Douro River. On arrival, join a fascinating tour of nearby Porto, which sits just across the river. Here, you'll be led past a collection of the city's most famous attractions, and visit a local port winery for a tour and tasting. This afternoon, there's ample time to explore Porto at leisure. You may like to visit a Portuguese boutique to buy authentic, local souvenirs. Or perhaps you'd enjoy taking a stroll through Porto's old-fashioned Bolhão food market, where Douro Discovery 1 1.
