92 Day 1. San Francisco Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Three Nights: San Francisco, Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf. Day 2. San Francisco Begin your stay in San Francisco with a sightseeing tour, visiting some of the cosmopolitan city's most famous sights, including the Golden Gate Bridge and popular Fisherman's Wharf. This afternoon board a ferry at Pier 33 and cross San Francisco Bay to the infamous island of Alcatraz. You'll journey right into the prison to see the cells as they were when it was operational, and hear fascinating stories of some of the escape attempts by prisoners that took place over the years. Day 3. San Francisco Today you have a full day at leisure ahead of you to explore this world- famous city. Perhaps stroll through the vibrant streets of Chinatown, and visit the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie factory. Or ride the famous trams up and down the hilly streets, taking in the iconic views. Day 4. Yosemite National Park, Merced Depart from Oakland by train, on the San Joaquin route through California's Central Valley, which is bordered on the west by the coastal mountain ranges and on the east by Yosemite National Park. Upon arrival at Merced, you'll transfer by coach into Yosemite for a fascinating tour of the Valley Floor. Here, take in spectacular views of Half Dome at the eastern end of Yosemite Valley, the 3,000 ft El Capitan and Bridalveil Falls. Stay: Merced, Courtyard by Marriot Hotel. Day 5. Bakersfield, Las Vegas Rejoin the San Joaquin route today and continue on your journey to Bakersfield. From here, your trip takes you by coach across the incredibly vast Mojave Desert. During this part of your trip take an up close look at desert life as you pass small, isolated villages and abandoned ghost towns before the bright lights of Las Vegas appear. Upon arrival, settle in to your hotel, where you will spend the next three nights. Then, the night is yours to head out and take in the incredible sights and sounds of this buzzing world-famous city. Three Nights: Las Vegas. Harrah's Hotel. Day 6. Las Vegas Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore one of the most unique cities in the world. Home to amazing sights and spectacles within its resorts, Las Vegas really offers something for everyone. Perhaps choose from one of the top class shows or entertainment options right on your doorstep, including world-famous casinos. There is no end to the exciting ways you can spend your day and night in this glittering city. Day 7. Las Vegas One day is definitely not enough to take in all of the sights of Las Vegas, so thankfully you have today as well! The monorail is a great way to explore the exotic delights of the Strip, from the African-themed Sahara Hotel to the MGM Grand, via resorts with Oriental, Roman and Parisian themes, as well as Las Vegas's version of Venice. Alternatively, your Tour Manager can offer an optional flight over the Grand Canyon (own expense). Day 8. Hoover Dam, Williams Your journey today takes you across Nevada to Arizona, via the Hoover Dam, an engineering masterpiece which was completed in 1936 to end the flooding caused by the Colorado River.
