50 Day 1. Arrive Vancouver Your journey begins today as you arrive in Vancouver. Upon arrival, be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Meet your fellow travellers and Tour Director during a Welcome Reception this evening. Two Nights: Vancouver, Marriott Pinnacle Hotel. Day 2. Vancouver Discover Vancouver's many attractions on a guided sightseeing tour this morning. See the city's high-rise-framed Waterfront, and also visit Vancouver's historic heart – Gastown. This afternoon, you may wish to enjoy a Grouse Mountain gondola ride to take in incredible views (see page 94). B Day 3. Rocky Mountaineer, Kamloops Today board the Rocky Mountaineer, and relax in your SilverLeaf carriage as you soak up the stunning scenery of the spectacular Coast Mountains, before entering Fraser Canyon. Enjoy dramatic views of the thundering waters of Hell's Gate, then follow the Thompson River before arriving in the town of Kamloops where you will spend the evening. Stay: Kamloops, hotel assigned by Rocky Mountaineer. BL Day 4. Rocky Mountaineer, Banff Your exciting rail journey continues into the Canadian Rockies today with large windows providing amazing views of the scenery as it glides by On this stunning journey you will pass the spellbinding Spiral Tunnels and the impressive Kicking Horse Canyon before arriving in beautiful Banff National Park. This beautiful area is an alpine haven for outdoor and wildlife enthusiasts alike. Two Nights: Banff Park Lodge. BL Day 5. Banff Enjoy today at your leisure to discover the many sights and highlights of Banff, as well as the picturesque scenery of nearby Bow River, at your own pace. Take a wagon ride along the banks of the Bow River and enjoy a tasty steak fry BBQ dinner. If you're after adventure, then consider joining a heli-flightseeing tour for awe-inspiring aerial views of the Canadian Rockies; perhaps watch for local wildlife on a scenic Bow River float trip or take a Bow River Voyageur canoe tour to explore the area from a fresh perspective. Alternatively, you might prefer to spend time familiarising yourself with the charming alpine town of Banff and all its attractions (see page 94). BD Day 6. Banff, Lake Louise This morning, embark on a memorable exploration of Banff and its surrounds. Enjoy a tour of Banff with its quaint village atmosphere and dramatic mountain setting. Then, for the bigger picture, take a ride on the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for lovely views across Banff National Park. Later, admire the azure waters of Moraine Lake (weather permitting) on the way to world-famous Lake Louise. Both glacier-fed lakes illuminate and contrast with their fir-cloaked surroundings thanks to their brilliant blue-green colour. Settle into The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
