49 Day 11. Agra, Delhi, Freedom of Choice. Experience the Taj Mahal bathed in the golden glow of an early morning sunrise. Enjoy a tour of Agra's iconic Red Fort, a powerful fortress of red sandstone that overlooks the gardens of the Taj Mahal. Afterwards, be transferred to Delhi. Once arrived, retire to your colonial influenced hotel. Later, choose from a range of dining options at your hotel. Stay: Delhi, Imperial Hotel. BLD Day 12. Delhi. A tour of Old Delhi begins today at Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque. Later, explore the labyrinth of tiny lanes of Shahjahanabad in a cycle- rickshaw. Afterwards, stop for a photo at The Red Fort. Drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan, the official residence of the President of India, and stop for another photo opportunity at India Gate – a 42 metre-high archway in the centre of Delhi. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure, before being transferred the airport this evening for your overnight flight to Yangon. BLD THE BUSTLING CITY OF YANGON Day 13. Arrive Yangon, Embark Ship. Be met at the airport and transferred to the Irrawaddy River. Here, board your luxury river ship, the RV Samatha, for the start of your incredible 14-night Irrawaddy River cruise. Enjoy lunch on board, before you head back into the city of Yangon for the opportunity to view the famous Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset. Get to know your fellow travellers and APT Cruise Director during a Welcome Reception. 14 Night Stay: aboard APT's boutique river ship, the RV Samatha. LD CRUISING THE IRRAWADDY RIVER Day 14. Yangon. Today select your Freedom of Choice activity. Perhaps travel by train to discover some of the city's best kept secrets. Join a city walking tour. Or gain an insight into Yangon's arts scene. This afternoon, admire the views of rice fields and stilt houses perched high over the water as your ship leisurely cruises along the Irrawaddy River. BLD Day 15. Danuphyu. Enjoy a morning at leisure on board as you take in the unique sights of the Irrawaddy Delta region. Stop to explore Danuphyu, where the revered General Maha Bandula led a famous Burmese defensive against the British troops during the First Anglo-Burmese War. Visit a local cheroot (cigar) workshop and take some time to explore at leisure. Back on board this evening, enjoy a delicious dinner surrounded by new friends. BLD Day 16. Myanaung. Cruise onwards today to the quiet riverside township of Myanaung. Here, a guided walking tour will take you past a range of well-preserved colonial houses and on to the bustling local market. BLD Day 17. Pyay (Prome). On arrival in Pyay, you'll disembark for a walking tour. Here you'll see the imposing Shwesandaw Pagoda, one of the country's most revered religious sites. Later, travel to the ancient ruins at the old Pyu kingdom capital, Sri Ksetra. BLD Day 18. Thayetmyo. Cruise into Thayetmyo. Here, embark on a fascinating tour of the historic colonial-era post office before taking a swing at Myanmar's first golf course. BLD Day 19. Minhla, Magwe. Stop in the town of Minhla, the site of a significant battle during the Third Anglo-Burmese War. Visit Minhla Fort. Cruise onwards to Magwe, where you'll head up to the Mya Tha Lun Pagoda. Take in the amazing views as you explore the pagoda and its surroundings. BLD Day 20. Salay. Cruise to the village of Salay. On disembarking, you'll visit Yoke Sone Kyaung, the region's oldest surviving wooden monastery. Afterwards, continue on to Shinbin Maha Laba Man Paya, home to the country's largest lacquer Buddha image. BLD Day 21. Tantkyi Hill, Bagan. Disembark your ship and climb Tantkyi Hill to visit Tantkyitaung Pagoda, encircled by 32 elephant statues facing in all directions. Back on board, you will be able to capture your first glimpse of Bagan, one of Myanmar's iconic attractions. Later this evening, observe a stunning sunset over Bagan, one of the world's truly awe-inspiring archaeological sites. BLD THE FAMED ANCIENT CITY OF BAGAN Day 22. Bagan. Enjoy breakfast before selecting your Freedom of Choice activity. Perhaps take a private horse cart ride. Partake in a shopping tour of the village markets of Old Bagan. Or ascend the staircase encircling Myanmar's most important nats (spirits) at Mount Popa. Later, visit a lacquerware workshop and a nearby village.
