70 CAPTAIN'S CHOICE | Europe 2017 Who said getting there is only half the fun? Travel is not merely about visiting iconic destinations. It's just as much about the way you get there – and with Captain's Choice you can expect the journey to be every bit as inspiring as the destination itself. Our rail journeys are no exception. Whether it's sweeping along the northern Spanish coast aboard the El Transcantabrico Gran Lujo, being whisked from Venice to Paris aboard the Belmond Venice Simplon-Orient-Express or from Budapest to Venice on the Golden Eagle Danube Express, we know how to do train travel. Equally inspiring are our journeys by water. New for 2017, we're proud to introduce the MS Jeanine and La Bella Vita, a dainty barge that will escort you through the canals of Europe in refinement. We also delighted to welcome you aboard the Spirit of Chartwell, reassigned to Portugal's Douro River after carrying Her Majesty The Queen during her Diamond Jubilee river pageant in 2012. Facilitating an indulgent adventure to the not-so-sunny North Pole, meanwhile, 50 Years of Victory is the world's largest nuclear powered icebreaker. And last but not least we are saying hello to Hurtigruten's freshly refurbished MS Nordnorge and the privately chartered MV Princess Eleganza. The different regions of Europe are by nature extremely varied, and the modes of travel that we employ have been selected accordingly. But above all else, quality, comfort and style are our paramount concerns.
