Fly to the World Heritage-listed city of Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. Travel through the city by coach on the way to Chincheros, set high in the Andes. Sacred Valley, Freedom of Choice. With some free time at hand this morning, you may like to explore your picturesque surrounds via one of the hotel's pleasant walking trails. This afternoon, perhaps taste a range of local craft beers at the Sacred Valley Brewing Company or tour the workshops at a local ceramics studio. BD Day 5. Sacred Valley, Maras, Moray. Witness the dazzling sight of the Maras salt mines, where thousands of glistening salt pools spill over the side of a steep terraced slope. Your next stop is the Moray archaeological site, a fascinating collection of ancient terraced fields which were likely used by the Incas for agricultural experiments. Here, enjoy enchanting views out over the deep terraces during lunch at El Parador de Moray. BL Day 6. Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu. Board PeruRail's Vistadome train and travel to Machu Picchu, located more than 2,400 metres above sea level.
