Salt Flats & Flamingos
From your desert lodge, you can travel
to Los Flamencos National Reserve, with
some areas forming part of the largest salt
flat in Chile. Despite the harsh conditions,
the frosting-like salt crystals make an
unlikely natural paradise. At the Chaxa
Lagoon, flurries of pink flamingos stand
vertical against their panoramic surrounds,
reflected in the water.
Wild Blue Lagoons
It is almost unimaginable that one might
find thriving blue lagoons nestled amid
some of the driest terrain in the world.
South-west of the Alto Atacama, flanked
by majestic Andean peaks, lie the Miscanti
and Miñiques lagoons. The deep blue of
