Port Davey, Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Like a Local – enter remote Port Davey this morning for two days of exploration in the heart of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Many of the places you'll visit are accessible only by water; which explains why this remains one of the most pristine landscapes on earth. BLD Day 10. Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Your bracing expedition voyage continues deeper into the wilderness, past forgotten rivers, deep gorges and tiny islands. Beyond Bathurst Narrows, strike out on foot along the Balmoral Hill Track and visit the village of Melaleuca, where you'll learn about the conservation efforts underway to protect the orange-bellied parrot. BLD Day 11. Bruny Island, Adventure Bay. Board a Zodiac or Explorer vessel for a cruise along the southern coast of Bruny Island, looking out for Australian fur seals frolicking in the surf past Cape Bruny Lighthouse. Back on board, your ship will set sail for Wineglass Bay, and you'll enjoy a tasting of Tasmanian wines. BLD Day 12. Freycinet National Park, Maria Island. Awaken this morning in the pristine surrounds of Freycinet National Park. Early risers and keen photographers may choose to join a guided walk through the lush national park to take in the views from the Wineglass Bay lookout. Like a Local – the afternoon brings us to Maria Island, a national park that boasts a cornucopia of rare and endangered wildlife. The very features that made the island a convict settlement in the 1800s has also made it an ideal refuge for rare plant and animal species, including the endangered Tasmanian devil. After meeting the locals, there's plenty of time for you to familiarise yourself with the island's darker past, discovering the historic town site of Darlington, including the Commissariat Store and the convict penitentiary. BLD Day 13. Tasman National Park, Port Arthur. Marvel at the staggering geological wonders of Tasman National Park, keeping your eyes peeled for seals and dolphins that love to chase the ship. As the day grows long, sailing into historic Port Arthur provides a completely different perspective on one of Tasmania's most famous icons. In the 1800s, this penal colony housed Britain and Australia's worst criminals; a place where rogues were turned into honest men. Our expert guide adds colour and context to the era during a walking tour. This day to remember then concludes with an exclusive private reception in the beautiful surrounds of one of the historic homes. At a Farewell Dinner back on board, you'll join the Captain and his crew for a chilled glass of sparkling Tasmanian wine as well as canapés, a great way to begin our final night cruising the Tasmanian coast. BLD Day 14. Disembark, Depart Hobart. Cruising up the River Derwent, you'll arrive into Hobart bright and early this morning. After breakfast, disembark the Coral Expeditions I for the final time and transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
