26 Day 8. Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake, Freedom of Choice. Today set out to explore Dove Lake with a friendly local guide, admiring the beauty of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Later, visit Waldheim Chalet then enjoy your Freedom of Choice Sightseeing Inclusion. Perhaps indulge in a wine and cheese tasting or learn about the flora and fauna of the region during a walk with a naturalist guide. Alternatively, enjoy a free afternoon then go searching for native animals on a night spotlight tour. BD Day 9. Stanley, The Nut, The Tarkine, Smithton. Travel to Stanley, set in the shadow of The Nut. Journey through the Tarkine region and stop at Sumac Lookout for views of the Arthur River. Continue to the Julius River Forest Reserve for a rainforest walk and afternoon tea, including Tasmanian wine and cake made with locally produced honey. Later, head to Smithton for an exclusive Tasmanian Fare Dinner. Stay: Smithton, Tall Timbers Hotel. B, FD Day 10. House of Anvers, Sheffield, Woolmers Estate, National Rose Garden, Launceston. Skirting the northern coastline on the way to Devonport, you may well catch a glimpse of the Spirit of Tasmania ferry coming in this morning. But with both feet on the island, your Tasmanian touring is far from over and the House of Anvers awaits. Here, expect plenty of tasting opportunities during a special chocolate tour and sampling with Tasmania's famous confectioners. The afternoon then takes you inland to the historic town of Sheffield, famous for the striking murals that adorn the town's buildings, among other quaint constructions and artworks. Later, enjoy a guided walk around the historic Woolmers Estate. Wander through the museum and take a leisurely stroll through the impressive National Rose Garden, considered to be one of the finest collections of historic roses in the Southern Hemisphere. Two Night Stay: Launceston, Hotel Grand Chancellor. B Day 11. Ross, Launceston, Farewell Dinner. After breakfast, you will travel to the historical township of Ross, once the home of a female penitentiary in the 1800s. You'll feel like you've stepped back in time as you walk across the historic bridge and admire the town's antiquarian architecture. Travel around the vast Great Lake on your return to Launceston, before enjoying a special Farewell Dinner and Drink this evening. B, FD Day 12. Cataract Gorge, Depart Launceston. On your final morning in Tasmania, there's one last natural wonder to uncover. Follow the path along the river to explore the geological wonders of Cataract Gorge, a unique natural rock formation on the outskirts of the sleepy city. Watch for the emerald peacocks who strut around the neatly manicured lawns and soak up your final taste of the fresh Tasmanian air, before bidding a fond farewell to the Apple Isle as you transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
