86 Day 1. Arrive Rome. Arrive before midday and be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, join a local guide for a sightseeing tour. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant. Two Night Stay: Rome, Hotel Bernini Bristol. D Day 2. Rome. A guide will take you to the Vatican today, where you'll see Michelangelo's renowned artwork in the Sistine Chapel. After, visit some of Rome's ancient sites, including the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. B Day 3. Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento. Travel to the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. After a guided tour of this fascinating area, continue to the idyllic coastal town of Sorrento. This evening, visit a mozzarella farm for a guided tour and a delicious dinner. Two Night Stay: Hilton Sorrento Palace. BD Day 4. Isle of Capri, Sorrento, Freedom of Choice. Cruise to the picturesque Isle of Capri. On a tour of the island, visit the Marina Piccola, the famed Blue Grotto (weather permitting) and ruins of the Imperial Roman villas. Return to Sorrento and perhaps enjoy a walking tour of the town. Or, journey along the World Heritage-listed Amalfi Coast and spend some free time exploring the town of Amalfi. B Day 5. Sorrento, Assisi, Perugia. On your way to Perugia today, head to the medieval town of Assisi and visit the Basilica of St Francis of Assisi. Journey on to Perugia. Stay: Perugia, Hotel Brufani Palace. BD Day 6. Perugia, San Gimignano, Florence. Explore the charming medieval walled town of San Gimignano. Afterwards, over a light Tuscan lunch, you'll taste locally made olive oils, delicious antipasti and regional wines. Continue to Florence. Two Night Stay: Florence, Grand Hotel Villa Medici. BL Day 7. Florence. This morning, pay a visit to the Galleria dell'Accadamia, where exhibits include Michelangelo's famed statue of David. Later, explore Florence on a guided tour. BD Day 8. Florence, Pisa, Stresa, Freedom of Choice. Make a stop in Pisa to see the iconic Leaning Tower, then continue to Stresa. Later, enjoy dinner at your grand hotel, or dine at an ambient local restaurant. Two Night Stay: Stresa, Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees. BD Day 9. Stresa, Lake Maggiore. Cruise over Lake Maggiore and visit the Borromean Islands, named after a 16th-century aristocratic family, the Borromeos, who transformed the region with villas and landscaped gardens. B Day 10. Stresa, Valpolicella, Venice. In Valpolicella, stop for a tour and a light lunch at a mansion and vineyard owned and run by a descendant of the poet Dante.
