Arrive Budapest. Be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy time at leisure before tonight's Welcome Reception. Two Night Stay: Budapest, Hotel Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge. Day 2. Budapest. This morning a guided tour includes such places as Matthias Church, St Stephen's Basilica, the Fisherman's Bastion, the Royal Palace and Buda Castle. Following this insightful tour, the rest of the day is at your leisure, before a Welcome Dinner amid the arched cellars of the Gerbeaud Pub. Day 6. Belgrade. Today in Serbia's capital, take a city tour that includes Kalemegdan Fortress and the temple of St Sava. Or visit Tito's Memorial and the House of Flowers. After, enjoy free time or take a bike tour. BLD Day 7. Iron Gates. Cruise through one of Europe's most impressive natural wonders, the Iron Gates. Here the Danube passes through narrow gorges as the river winds past the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains. BLD BD Day 3. Budapest, Great Hungarian Plain. Today enjoy an excursion to the Puszta – perhaps the most widely-known region of Hungary throughout the world. Upon arrival, be met by horse-herds and greeted with warm hospitality, brandy and scones. Perhaps sample goulash, the national dish, before returning to Budapest to board your river ship on the Danube River. Seven Night Stay: a Concerto River Ship. BLD Day 4. Mohács, Pécs. Today arrive in Mohács and travel to Pécs for a tour. BLD Day 5. Vukovar OR Ilok, Novi Sad. Today choose between a tour of Vukovar or wine tasting in the town of Ilok. Then cruise to Novi Sad in Serbia and enjoy a tour including Danube Park, the old town centre and Petrovaradin Fortress. 136 Day 8. Vidin, Belogradchik. Arrive in Vidin today and see the Baba Vida Fortress, standing guard over the Danube. Then travel by coach to Belogradchik to see the mighty Kaleto Fortress, on the north slopes of the Balkan Mountains. BLD Day 9. Rousse, Bucharest. Today enjoy a full day excursion to Bucharest. Visit the city's open-air museum, dedicated to the traditional architecture and buildings of rural Romania. Then, after lunch at leisure, perhaps enjoy a visit to the Palace of the Parliament, second only to the Pentagon as the largest building in the world. Alternatively, visit the historical city centre. The remainder of the day is then yours to spend at leisure. Day 11. Istanbul. On a tour of Istanbul, drive by Taksim Square, the hippodrome and Galata Tower, then visit the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. This afternoon cruise along the Bosphorus, a narrow strait forming a boundary between Europe and Asia. Inclusions. This morning disembark your ship in Rousse and transfer to the airport for your included flight to Istanbul. Depart Çanakkale and head for the World Heritage-listed ancient city of Troy. After exploring, return to Istanbul.
