26 Mediterranean Surrender to a visual feast of sparkling azure waters, sun-soaked islands, remarkable cities, awe-inspiring art and ancient ruins. The boutique size of our ships allows us to dock alongside small ports and drop anchor in the Mediterranean's most idyllic and spectacular destinations – creating unforgettable memories of a lifetime. A Mediterranean Odyssey From the dazzling Greek Islands to the impressive architecture of Barcelona, experience the very best of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. Relive the ANZAC legend in Gallipoli, embark on a bird- watching expedition in Nafplio, uncover Valetta's exquisite architecture and hop through the glorious islands of Spain. Along the way, navigate the narrow Corinth Canal, accessible only by small ship. Summer in Southern Europe On our Southern European cruises, you'll take in vibrant Spanish culture, sample some of Portugal's finest port wine and experience the remarkably verdant landscapes of France, including those in and around Bordeaux and Saint Malo. Land Tour Extensions Providing an in-depth immersion, our guided land journeys in Turkey, France and the United Kingdom superbly complement our small ship Mediterranean cruises. Passage to Iberia... Mid morning, the MS Island Sky berthed at Muella Dique, in the commercial port of Motril, situated in the heart of the tropical coast of Granada. Soon we're driving along the new motorway to the Alhambra complex. Located on the top of the Al-Sabika Hill, the complex is considered by many to be one of the most wonderful buildings in Europe, representing the final flowering of Islamic architecture in Spain. It could not have been a more delightful visit, ending with a gentle wander in the Generalife Gardens, full of colour. After lunch, we took a short walk in the old Arab Quarter. Barcelona – berthing along side the World Trade Centre, the most stunning sunrise ended what had been a very special few days. The fascinating and diverse lectures, the opportunity to learn a little Spanish – encouragement from Andrea to continue to study back home. The endless delicious irresistible lunches and dinners – not forgetting the freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream – calorie counts ignored! The mix and fun of our visits on dry land along the Mediterranean Coast. A week of stunning (if a little hot at times) weather. The comfort of the MS Island Sky, and the crew looking after everyone with kindness. Andrea – so chic and thoughtful, and Captain Henrik – ensuring a safe passage. Walking down the gangway to the coaches waiting to take us to Barcelona Airport, with others spending a few days in Barcelona, was just a little sad. But it was with treasured memories that we waved good-bye to this very exceptional ship, the MS Island Sky. – Chantal Cookson (Small Ship Guest) Southern Europe Sojourn (NOBIBL15) www.aptouring.com.au
