13 Morning Zodiac Expedition Waking up to a world of white that floats on a deep blue sea is an experience unlike any other. Lighting the world for 20 hours each day, the Antarctic sun is already high in the sky, glinting off towering glaciers and snow-capped peaks. It would be hard to find a morning view better than this. With this magnificent scenery beckoning, it's time to pull on your wet weather gear and head out to explore those distant glaciers. Down at the Marine Platform, you tug on your beanie and jump aboard a Zodiac bound for crisp white peaks. As you speed through the fresh cool air, weaving in and out of icebergs, you can spot the captivating locals – penguins, seals and whales. Lunch Back on board, lunch is enjoyed with sensational views at either the Gastronomic Restaurant or the Grill Restaurant, where those wanting to be closer to nature can dine al fresco. Afternoon Shore Landing After lunch, the captain steers towards a chinstrap penguin rookery and it's time to hop back aboard the Zodiacs. Landing nearby, you step out onto the soft crunch of the ice. The penguins, unfazed by your arrival, continue their lives as you wander around, taking some truly unique holiday snaps. Back at the ship, people have just gathered in the Lounge when an announcement causes everyone to rush excitedly to the deck – orcas have been spotted. After watching them leap and play in the waves, it's off to the lecture theatre where an informal talk teaches you more about this spellbinding place. Dinner This evening, stories are shared and moments remembered with new-found friends over a delicious dinner in the Gastronomic Restaurant. "Luxury Expedition Ships of 200 passengers like APT use really do this incredible region justice. The possibilities are endless." – Expedition Leader Jane Wilson NEW ENGLAND ISLANDS CRUISING A DAY IN ANTARCTICA 13 A DAY IN ANTARCTICA
