50 Day 1. Arrive Beijing. On arrival in Beijing, be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel near the Silk Market. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Reception. Stay (Three Nights): Beijing, Jianguo Hotel. Day 2. Beijing, Forbidden City. This morning's sightseeing begins with a visit to Tiananmen Square, before exploring the Forbidden City. Afterwards, enjoy time at leisure. A Taste of China – tonight, savour a Peking Duck banquet at a local restaurant. Enhance Your Journey: explore the World Heritage-listed Summer Palace (see page 59). BD Day 3. Beijing, Great Wall of China. Today head for the Great Wall of China, and enjoy a cable car ride to one of the best- preserved parts of the wall. Later, visit the Sacred Way of the Ming Dynasty Tombs, and visit a jade factory before returning to the city. Enhance Your Journey: attend a dramatic Kung Fu show this evening (see page 59). BL Day 4. Beijing, Yichang, Embark Cruise. Like a Local – enjoy a pedicab tour of Beijing's old hutongs (alleys), and stop along the way to visit a local home. Then fly to Yichang and transfer to your river ship. Stay (Four Nights): MS Victoria Anna or MS Victoria Selina. BLD Day 5. Three Gorges Dam, Xiling Gorge. Relax and take in the scenery of the Yangtze River as you cruise through the Three Gorges region. Disembark to tour the Three Gorges Dam. Later, cruise through Xiling Gorge, the longest and deepest of the Three Gorges. BLD Day 6. Daning River, Wu Gorge, Qutang Gorge. Today's excursion takes you to the Daning River, home to the Three Lesser Gorges. Continue on through Wu Gorge on the way to Qutang Gorge, the narrowest of the Three Gorges. BLD Day 7. Shibaozhai. Arrive today at Shibaozhai, a striking red pagoda. Disembark and explore the pagoda's 12 floors – each of which contains a range of artefacts. Later, perhaps visit the 'Ghost City' of Fengdu (additional cost). BLD Day 8. Chongqing, Disembark Ship, Xi'an. Disembark for the final time this morning in Chongqing. Head to the Chongqing Zoo to see the famous giant pandas. Later, fly to Xi'an. A Taste of China – tonight enjoy a dumpling banquet and take in a Tang Dynasty show. Stay (Two Nights): Golden Flower Hotel Xi'an, by Shangri-La. BD Day 9. Xi'an. Visit the Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses today. Like a Local – tonight, head to Xi'an's Muslim Quarter. Enhance Your Journey: take a bike tour along the City Wall of Xi'an (see page 59). BL Day 10. Xi'an, Shanghai, Wuzhen. After a free morning, board your included flight to Shanghai.
