28 Day 1. Arrive Cape Town (South Africa). On arrival at Cape Town airport, be met by a Travelmarvel representative and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, meet fellow travellers and your Tour Director at a Welcome Reception. Stay (Three Nights): Cape Town, Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel. Day 2. Cape Town. Take a cableway ride up Table Mountain for stunning views. Then see Cape Town's sights. Enhance Your Journey: this afternoon perhaps choose one of our optional experiences. Take a ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned; join an African Heritage Tour or a shopping trip to Cape Town's markets with a guide (see page 44 for details). A Taste of South Africa – try African drumming before a Welcome Dinner of African and Cape Malay cuisine. BD Day 3. Cape Town, Cape Peninsula. Like a Local – discover the breathtaking Cape Peninsula during a full-day tour today. Journey along Chapman's Peak Drive to Cape Point where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Continue to Simon's Town for a seafood lunch, then see penguins at Boulders Beach. BL Day 4. Cape Town, Garden Route, Oudtshoorn. This morning, set off along the Garden Route, through the wetlands and forests that dot the coastline. Stop to discover the subterranean formations of the Cango Caves. Then continue to the town of Oudtshoorn, for a dinner of delicious regional produce including ostrich. Stay: Oudtshoorn, Queen's Hotel. BD Day 5. Oudtshoorn, Knysna. Like a Local – tour an ostrich farm this morning and enjoy the chance to feed an ostrich by hand. After, follow the Garden Route to Knysna, a charming coastal town on the shores of a lagoon, and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Stay (Two Nights): Knysna, Protea Hotel Knysna Quays. B Day 6. Knysna, Featherbed Nature Reserve. Like a Local – visit Featherbed Nature Reserve today, a pristine piece of paradise on the Western Head of Knysna, accessible only by ferry. Cross the lagoon and join a park guide for a 4WD journey to the top of Western Head, for stunning views. Later, perhaps join an optional bushwalk into ancient sea caves.
